I learned how to make S'mores while camping with the Girl Scouts. In fact, the first published S'more recipe appears in the 1940 Girl Scout Handbook. I was always told that the name S'more was a shortened version of the words, "some more" Everyone loves S'mores. Dessert made on a stick... everyone makes their own and there's no dishes to wash! While the basic S'more recipe has remained the same all these years, there are variations, limited only by your imagination. Here are some ideas and if you have a good recipe, please post it below in comments! By the way, Aaron keeps his Kamp Klamath camp store full of all the S'mores essentials, including the firewood! The Original S'more
Graham Crackers (regular or chocolate covered)
Hershey's chocolate bar
Place half of a Hershey's Chocolate bar onto a graham cracker half. Toast a marshmallow over a campfire. After the marshmallow is toasted a nice golden brown, place it on top of the chocolate bar half. Cover with a second cracker half and gently press together.
Really Melty S'mores
Sandwich your marshmallow and chocolate between 2 graham crackers. Wrap tightly in tin foil and on coals.
Instead of placing your roasted marshmallow on a graham cracker, place it between two
cookies. Add half a Hershey bar if needed.
Slather your graham cracker with peanut butter and sliced bananas. Add the burnin, burnin' hunk of love (your toasty marshmallow) and cover with another graham cracker...
Melt chocolate in aluminum pie plate or bread tin. Place rpasted marshmallow on skewer and roll in melted chocolate. Then roll in your favorite topping (sprinkles, coconut, nuts etc)
before placing on a graham cracker or cookie.
Peanut Butter S'mores
Toast the marshmallow. Place a mini peanut butter cup (or two) on the graham cracker. Top with the toasted marshmallow and top with another graham cracker.

Small flour tortilla
Teaspoon of peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
Spread peanut butter on tortilla, sprinkle with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Roll up the tortilla shell, wrap in foil and twist close the ends. Cook on grill grate over your fire for about 5 minutes..
Banana Boat S'mores
Mini chocolate chips/or several squares of Hershey bar
Leave banana in peel. Slice it horizontally halfway through the banana creating a slit. Open it up like a hot dog bun and stuff chocolate and marshmallows. Wrap completely in tinfoil and heat over fire.
Layer the chocolate on half of the graham cracker. Roast marshmallow, place blueberries on top of the chocolate and then cover with the hot marshmallow. Top with the strawberry slice and a second graham cracker.
Caramel Apple S'more
1 large marshmallow
2 chewy caramels
2 green apple slices about 1/2 inch thick
Skewer the marshmallow and the two caramels on the same roasting stick. Hold over the fire until desired doneness. Slide the concoction onto one of the apple slices. Top with remaining apple slice.
