The Klamath is one of the most important rivers for fish migration on the west coast of North America south of the Columbia River.  The river is considered a prime habitat for Chinook salmon and steelhead trout.

Lucy was headed toward the ocean yesterday and we were thrilled that she was going in the right direction, but her timing wasn't the best.   While the river was full and vibrant when she entered to raise her calf, after six weeks, the river has become more shallow, exposing the riverbeds and surprise sandbars mid river.
