The RV Park at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area turned into a cyclists' heaven as over 70,000 people brought their tents, RV's and bicycles to the 26th Annual Sea Otter Classic.

The Sea Otter Classic, North America's largest gathering of bicycle enthusiasts is underway! Under blue skies and cool temperatures, riders hit the trails and runs in an effort to sharpen their skills for the big races on Saturday and Sunday.

It's Tuesday, April 12th and the Sea Otter Classic is about to begin in just two days!  Some early birds have checked into the RV Park and are riding up and down the steep hills practicing, while hundreds of vendors are setting up their tents around the lake.  




Several dirt tracks are being built and test runs are being done on the downhill track to make sure every turn is perfect.











So THAT's how these tracks are built!

The number of wonderful things to do just 15 minutes away from Laguna Seca RV Park is amazing! One of the favorite events is the daily (7 days a week) tour that Doug Lumsden puts on with his Monterey Movie Tours.  You meet the large comfortable bus at the corner of Alvarado and Del Monte in Monterey and for the next 3 hours you will be highly entertained! Doug takes you on a tour of  the locations of over 20 major movies filmed on the Peninsula....

BREAKING NEWS!

It might not seem like it, but the Monterey Peninsula is just a series of wonderful, but small towns.  How small town is it?  The lead story this week on every TV newscast and newspaper article this week, was an event that got almost as much coverage than the Concours 'd Elegance or the AT&T Pebble Beach Tournament.   The popular fast food joint, "In-N-Out" was going to open its doors for the first time on the peninsula!
