The Sea Otter Classic, North America's largest gathering of bicycle enthusiasts is underway! Under blue skies and cool temperatures, riders hit the trails and runs in an effort to sharpen their skills for the big races on Saturday and Sunday.



The RV Park at the Laguna Seca Recreation area is packed to the brim with RV and tent campers....each one with a handful of bicycles parked beside them. (As I  write this, I smell the wood burning fire...

One of the major pastimes of both visitors and locals alike in Monterey County is just getting in the car and taking a drive... There are some extraordinary places to see including one that begins right outside the door at Laguna Seca RV Park... Scenic Highway 68 which was part of the original Anza Highway created in 1774 will lead you to River Road just 5 minutes away... River Road is also part of that historic Highway and the views as you trav...

The number of wonderful things to do just 15 minutes away from Laguna Seca RV Park is amazing! One of the favorite events is the daily (7 days a week) tour that Doug Lumsden puts on with his Monterey Movie Tours.  You meet the large comfortable bus at the corner of Alvarado and Del Monte in Monterey and for the next 3 hours you will be highly entertained! Doug takes you on a tour of  the locations of over 20 major movies filmed on the Peninsula....

The Monterey Peninsula is so full things to do for kids and families.  And The RV Park at Laguna Seca Recreation Area is the perfect place to headquarter during your visit!  You can hike and bike, watch the cars on the track or go exploring right here, but if you are ready for more, here are some activities that your kiddos will enjoy.

WATCH RACING IN THE PARK

Because the RV Park in the Laguna Seca Recreation Area is in the middle of the action on  California's Monterey Peninsula, it's hard to remember that one of the most fun things to do is right on site.  RV and camping sites are located right along the Mazda raceway where it's east to watch the cars speed and squeal around the track!  On any given day, there will likely be some kind of car club or .........

The Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum (MCARLM)  in the San Lorenzo Regional RV Park tells the story of the history of life and agriculture in the Salinas Valley from the time of the Ohlone Indians to today.     I was surprised by how well done the museum is! The barn where the museum is located is light, colorful and full of antiquities from several eras of life and farming in the valley.
