3. Nearby parks and beaches:
Carmel Beach
Pet friendly beaches including "leash free" at Carmel Beach
One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen is also the most dog friendly.
Dogs may run free and play in the waves without being on a leash. They must be on leash, however, to and from where your car is parked. The entire town of Carmel is dog friendly with many stores furnishing bowls of water near the door. Dogs must be on a leash while walking in town.
Toro Park:Toro County Park has much to offer the outdoor enthusiast. The park facilities include an equestrian staging area and riding trails, two softball fields, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, mountain biking, volleyball courts, and over 20 miles of hiking trials. Dogs on leash.Jacks Peak:Almost 8.5 miles of horseback riding and hiking trails wind through cathedral-like forests and to breathtaking ridge top vistas. The Skyline Self-Guided Nature Trail traverses the summit of Jacks Peak and features fossils from the Miocene epoch. Dogs on leash.Carmel River Beach:Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash.Warning:Point Lobos State Reserve:Dogs are not allowed in the Reserve, even if they are in a vehicle.Seaside State Beach:Dogs are not allowed at Seaside Beach as it is considered an endangered species area, but they are allowed south of the hotel which is also part of Monterey State Beach.Garland Park: Dogs are welcome if under leash or immediate voice and visual control. Owners must clean up after their pets and dispose of waste in trash receptacles. Garland Park is open from sunrise to sunset. It is located on Carmel Valley Road, four miles further into the valley from Saddle Mountain Ranch.PET SERVICESStones's Pet Shop13748 Center St
