“As New York’s only local news/talk in the mornings, this initial look at John’s first day on WOR News/Talk Radio 710 is confirmation of what we have known, and we are excited. John Gambling is the radio legend to bring WOR’s tri-state listeners the information they need to start their day and our advertisers a unique, upfront listening environment for their message,” said Jerry Crowley, WOR’s vice president and general manager.

“PPM allows us to tell very quickly whether or not a format change is working in a particular market,” said Carol Hanley, senior vice president, U.S. media, Arbitron. “Here, we have the return of a veteran in the industry, whose new station is already showing an impact on the audience thanks to electronic measurement.”

Editors note: The percentage increases cited in the release are based on audience data for WOR-AM based on preliminary panelist qualification for in-tab status. These should only be taken as a general indication of the radio audience behavior in light of a change in programming as final estimates may differ.
