Just two years after reviving KFRC on 106.9/FM, CBS has dropped the format and will simulcast their all news station, KCBS-AM.  Reportedly, that also means the exit of some 8 staff members at KFRC-FM including its most popular personalities, Dave Sholin, Celeste Perry, Sue Hall and Jay Coffey. Ben Fong-Torres, popular show, Backstage, has also been dropped.

The San Jose Mercury news quoted market market Doug Harvill who explained..."This is part of our effort to make KCBS available on as many platforms as possible. We want to make sure people get it, especially as this business transforms to a digital age."

The classic rock format for KFRC-FM will now be heard on one of the company's HD channels and on line at kfrc.com
