Clear Channel reported this morning that spending on national political spots on their stations is up 98% over 2006.  They also show that total political spending from all areas increased 48% compared to 2006 and 54% compared to 2004.  The report says that local political spending increased 8% compared to 2006 and 48% compared to 2004. The release says that all 800 plus Clear Channel stations, both on-air and on-line are showing the increase and that...."Radio is gaining audience while other mediums are losing it - and with more than 110 million adult listeners in the U.S. tuning into Clear Channel Radio, it is the most wide-reaching medium by far."
