Radio is dead!  It's over! Fine'! The Internet and smart phones killed it!  Really? 

Not according to a new Arbitron survey released this morning.  The rating service released its RADAR 108 National Radio Listening Report and showed  "a 2.1 million increase in weekly listeners." The report shows that "radio reaches 93.1 percent of persons twelve and older." Well, about the younger demos?  \In the adults aged 18-34...

A new Nielsen study conducted by the Council for Research Excellence found that 77% of adults are reached by radio on a daily basis, second only to television, which reaches 95%.  Internet came in with 64%, newspaper 35% and magazines 27%. The research was conducted in only five cities, by observing the activities of 300 people. A New York Times article this morning quotes Larry Rosin of Edison Media Research on the decline of radio listening.  The article shows that in the last 10 years radio listening is down about 14%..but the article ponts out that number depends on several variables...for example..college graduates are 8 times less likely to listen to radio than non college graduates...read the short Times article here...
