Tribune company owned WGN has hired former Clear Channel radio programmer Kevin Metheney to take over as PD.  He replaces Bob Shomper who will become the PD at WLS-AM, also in Chicago. WLS is owned by Citadel....
The man who ruled morning drive in Chicago for decades has died. Former WGN mornng host Wally Phillips, died at his home in Naples, Florida this morning.  He was 83. Wally had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the last five years.  Phillips first got into broadcasting at a small radio station in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
