A three block walk from Pillar Point RV Park is a terrific restaurant called, "Crab Landing". Not only is it a seafood restaurant, but it is also a steakhouse. And I have to tell you, one of the questions we hear most often on the golf course, is "Where can you get a good steak around here?" This is the place.
Crab landing is two stories of glass walls, making it the perfect place for a fabulous view of the harbor and all of its activities regardless of which table you sit at. There are spacious outdoor patios with fireplaces, ocean views and your dog can join you there too.
Hamilton and I ate at Crab Landing twice during our stay at Pillar Point RV Park. One night, we just stopped by for appetizers. We had a marinated and smokey grilled artichoke with a wonderful creamy spicy dip along with a huge bowl of garlic clams...with plenty of San Francisco sourdough bread to sop up the juice!
We also enjoyed probably the best Virgin Mary we've had in a long time. Just the right heat, plus I fell in love with the pickled green bean, olive, onion and beautiful long stalk of cold, crisp celery.
The second time we went, Hamilton had the Friday night Prime Rib special. He likes and requested an end cut. The serving was huge and "just like butter"... I had a steak with the black and blue treatment...blue cheese crumbles, a basalmic reduction, topped with thin onion rings. To die for! Seriously. One of the most tender and flavorful steaks I've ever had.
If you've read this far, you deserve a treat! So here it is. Crab Landing General Manager, Robin O'Connor came up with this brilliant idea. If you'd like to come to Crab Landing for a meal, first see your wonderful park hosts, Lorraine or Terri. They will set you up with Robin so that when you go there, not only will you get extra special VIP treatment, but he will provide you with a free bottle of house selected wine to compliment and enjoy with your meal.
One more quick thing...desserts. Their cheesecakes are made locally by Elegant Cheesecakes. You'll see some of her cheesecake cakes on display when you first walk into the restaurant. They are beautiful and can be purchased and created separately for any occasion you may be celebrating.
All kinds of fun things are coming down the pike for Crab Landing. Robin is starting a Salsa Night where the restaurant is taken over by a latin dance group from 9pm-1am. There's a band, dance lessons and lots of celebration. The full house menu will also be available at that time. Be sure to check out their calendar of events on the link at the top of the page. It will tell you all about the day's various daily Happy Hour Specials, music and monthly events.
