
Just half an hour away from Pillar Point RV park is the seven hundred acre Coyote Point recreation area... Just go straight across 92 East to highway 101 go north for 3 miles and you're there... (Take video tour below)
There are no coyotes at coyote point, it was most likely named after the original owner of the grant from Mexico, Coyetano Arenas.
Coyote Point features a pistol and rifle range, miles of hiking trails through the forest... great picnicking spots and large areas to play sports. You can take walks along the bay and watch the kite surfers...Coyote is considered one of the very top spots in California for kite boarding...
There is a great playground called Magic Mountain with excellent facilities for the kids.. There is an area for 2 to 5 year olds and another for 5 to 12 year olds... 11 slides and 13 swings and more...The slide from the top of the 42 foot high castle is one of the longest enclosed slides in California . In the 1920's a large amusement park was built there with a extensive boardwalk... Over a million people visited its first year in business but it burned down the second year and was never rebuilt...
You can stay overnight here with your RV if you want to dry camp....$35 to $40 a night..no hookups..
The Coyote Point Marina is in the far eastern part of the park accommodating 580 boats. This is also the home to the very private Coyote Point Yacht Club.a club Just outside the gate of the recreational area there is an 18 hole golf course. The course is fairly simple and flat, but, it has a beautiful Restaurant & Clubhouse...
Finally if you have little kids, they will love CuriOdyssey... Giving them close-ups to live reptiles amphibians mammals and birds along with some excellent hands on science exhibits.
