There's a new restaurant in Half Moon Bay and it's a great place to get terrific food and watch sports.

Owner, Don Godshall, is a Philadelphia transplant and knows the secret behind a true Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. He buys the ribeye whole and thin slices it himself before it is grilled and crafted into a sandwich made just for you. He uses white American cheese because that's REALLY the #1 way Philadelphians prefer it, but will substitute Provolone or "Wiz" if you request it or are used to eating cheesesteaks that way. The buns are soft and grilled on one side...add grilled onions and there you have it.

As you look around there are lots of tables and booths, all surrounded by big screen TV screens showing different sports. Each section of the walls are dedicated to a northern California sports team, including teams from the local middle and high schools. Especially like the orange wall covered with photos of Giants players.

My friend, Kim and I stopped by and had burgers. Their hamburger is never frozen and each burger is hand crafted. The buns are soft, grilled and tasty. You can get a burger with the works and a hearty side of fries and a refillable soda drink for $10 bucks.
This is the double California burger. I was expecting thin burgers but this is what I got! Two
huge burger patties. Look, I mean really look at the size of this burger...you don't see the bottom of the bun until the bottom of the photo!
They also have the new soda fountain that serves up over 85 different flavors.
Here's Kim trying to wrap her mouth around a
single patty burger! (I made her pose for nearly 2 minutes like this so I could get the shot...lol...note the raised pinky!)
Besides sodas and water, they also serve a number of draft beers along with 20 varieties of bottled beers and wine.
There are also homemade soups and all salad dressings are made right there at the restaurant.
Is Jersey Joe's a chain? Sort of...a chain of two, both owned by Don. His other Joe's is in San Carlos.
