43rd Annual HALF MOON BAY
ART & PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
October 19-20, 2013
9am-5pm
Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA

No matter where you go in Half Moon Bay, you will see fields and fields of pumpkins waiting for children and adults to come pick them up for Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations. That also means it's time for the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off and the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.
Kicking off the week is the
SAFEWAY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PUMPKIN WEIGH-OFF. It will be held on Monday,
October 14 (7 a.m. on the IDES Grounds, 735 Main Street, Half Moon Bay). Organizers are offering $25,000 in prize money for a new world record entered at Half Moon Bay. The current world record is 2009-pounds.
Defending Half Moon Bay champion Thad Starr, of Pleasant Hill OR, obliterated the formidable field of heavyweight contenders at last year's Half Moon Bay weigh-off with his incredible 1,775-pound mega-gourd that set a new California state record

Thad Starr, around 6:30am, before the 2012 weigh-off with what turned out to be a grand prize winning pumpkin.
The Great Pumpkin Parade on Saturday will be led by six-time Gold Glove winner and all-time San Francisco Giants fan favorite J.T. Snow as Grand Marshal.
