Pillar Point and its harbor are home to just a handful of sea lions, so it's quite a thing when a non-local sea lion shows up on the jetty in front of Pillar Point RV Park and starts barking.
Volunteers from the Marine Mammal Center were called and they came out to see if the animal was tagged. While the sea lion was not tagged, it appears to be very healthy. In the photo above, the volunteers worked to get the sea lion back into the water, away from the fishermen and all the people who visit the jetty on such a beautiful, sunny, Sunday.
