Any time is the right time to come to Pillar Point RV Park and enjoy the beach.  September and October weather may be the best of the year with more cool sunny days and less fog..And, there are many exciting events that happen here in Half Moon Bay during the fall that you don't want to miss.   Here's a list of upcoming events to mark on your calendar.

First, there is a really great Farmer's Market every Saturday, 9am-1pm, May-Dec, at Shoreline Station, located downtown at Kelly Street and Highway 1. (Behind the caboose!)  No Farmer's Market on Pumpkin Festival weekend.





SEPTEMBER


"Quilts By The Sea" September 10, 2016  10am-4pm
Presented by the Half Moon Bay Piecemakers, the show features over 200 quilts, special exhibits, quilting demonstrations, a Make and Take project and an Oportunity quilt to benefit the Half Moon Bay Boys and Girls Club

FOGFEST

"The Pacific Coast Fog Fest is a celebration of sun, sand and surf that defines life on the coast and celebrates our marvelous coastal climate".  You'll find over 200 quality arts and crafts booths,  three stages for music and activity areas for kids. Parade starts Saturday morning at 10:00 am beginning and running along the South end of Palmetto Avenue.


OCTOBER

Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off  October 9, 2017
7:00 AM - 11:00 AM PDT
 
A special $30,000 bonus mega-prize will be awarded to any grower that breaks the world record at Half Moon Bay. The current world record is 2,323-pounds set in 2014 at a weigh-off in Germany. In a pay-by-the-pound system, the winner will take home a hefty $6 per pound for the champion mega-pumpkin. The grand champion gourd (along with the top five overall) will be on display at the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, October 14-15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street.

46th Annual Art and Pumpkin Festival   NO DOGS

The World Pumpkin Capital of Half Moon Bay celebrates the fall harvest with the Great Pumpkin Parade, hundreds of art vendors, non-stop music, pie eating contests, pumpkin carving demonstrations and more.

NOVEMBER
     
Johnston Holiday House  First two weekends in November
10am-4pm
This boutique features handmade crafts from numerous Coastside and regional artists plus selected purchased items.  Docents will be available to answer questions about the house built in 1853 which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Admission:  $10 per person. No children please. Tickets good for an unlimited number of visits during the event.

Night of Lights  December 1, 2017
6:00pm-9:00pm

Night of Lights is a free annual old fashioned holiday event hosted in downtown Half Moon Bay.  Tree lighting, parade of lights on Main Street, carolers and music.   Lots of activities for the kids.
