HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA

While no personal fireworks are allowed at Pillar Point RV Park, Half Moon Bay or its' surrounding communities, there will be a grand fireworks show in San Francisco.

Pillar Point is the perfect place to stay if you have a mind to attend the grand 4th of July celebrations that take place on Pier 39!   Just hop up to the BART station in Colma, (directions below) and take BART to the Embarcadero.

HAPPY 4TH FROM THE BEACH!

The 4th of July was just about perfect here at Pillar Point RV Park.   The weather was very nice. Alternating sunshine and cool fog made for a not too hot, not too cold day. Lots of groups and families joined us at the park.  Most pulled in on Tuesday and the park was sold out on Wednesday for the weekend.  It actually turned out to be more than just a one day celebration!  Bonfires, BBQ's waftin...

WHERE TO SEE FIREWORKS IN THE
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The city of Half Moon Bay used to shoot off fireworks right off the jetty in front of Pillar Point RV Park!  Alas, budgetary issues cropped up and the practice was halted about five years ago.  In the meantime, we have scoped out the best places to go if you need a fireworks fix.

4TH OF JULY
A REAL GREAT DAY AT
 PILLAR POINT RV PARK

The 4th of July was absolutely perfect here at Pillar Point RV Park!  Sunny skies, little or no breeze and 70 degrees!   The park was full of friends and families hosting BBQ's, playing bean bag games,  riding bikes and just plain enjoying each other's company.   The smell of BBQ's cooking hot dogs and hamburgers ran all through the air.

WHERE CAN I SEE FIREWORKS ON
JULY 4TH, 2014?

Half Moon Bay and surrounding communities will not have a fireworks display this year, however the "Old Fashioned Half Moon Bay July 4th" parade will go on as usual.  The celebration goes from 11am to 12pm and features dozens of homemade floats, bands, horses, classic cars and decorated bikes.


Fireworks at Pillar Point RV Park are strictly prohibited.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

It was a very happy 4th of July here at Pillar Point RV Park!   Everyone in the park and at the beaches in front of our rigs, gathered around tables and charcoal grills enjoying the beautiful day, especially when the sun finally came out.   

While other parts of the state were in the hundreds temperature wise, here at the beach, it was a perfect 72 degrees.

Well, dang!  Unfortunately, the city of Half Moon Bay will not be shooting fireworks off the jetty again this year due to budgetary issues...AND firing off personal fireworks is forbidden.
