Any time is the right time to come to Pillar Point RV Park and enjoy the beach.  September and October weather may be the best of the year with more cool sunny days and less fog..And, there are many exciting events that happen here in Half Moon Bay during the fall that you don't want to miss.   Here's a list of upcoming events to mark on your calendar.

The Half Moon Bay Annual Pumpkin Festival kicks off  every year with the pumpkin weigh off. California farmers didn't have great luck this year because of the drought.  Instead, Steve Daletas, of  Pleasant Hill, Oregon, wins the Half Moon Bay giant pumpkin weigh-off with 1,969-pounder.  Steve wins about $11,800 but, it failed to break the record and get the grand priize of $30,000.

August went out with a bang last night at Pillar Point RV Park.   It was a stunning beach day and ended with a particularly stunning night.   The air was calm and warm and a half moon shone brightly in the sky casting a spectacular glow on the still bay.  How appropriate!

The drama was high this year when the world record setting pumpkin grower from last year, Tim Matheson, showed up with three huge pumpkins!  Could it be a new world record was going to be crowned right here in Half Moon Bay?

No matter where you go in Half Moon Bay, you will see fields and fields of pumpkins waiting for children and adults to come pick them up for Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations.   That also means it's time for the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off and the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.

To some this holiday signifies the end of summer, but for Pillar Point RV Park,  Labor Day is just the beginning of the best weather season of the year!

It's this time of year, September, October, November,  when the air is warmer, the fog disappears and sun has made it's way around the horizon to create the some of the most spectacular sunsets.

HALF MOON BAY
ART AND PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

The town of Half Moon Bay which boasts a population of approximately 13,000 turns into 350,000 over a two day period.   Considering there's only two ways in and out of Half Moon Bay, (Highway One and Highway 92, which are both single lane roads each way), it takes some savvy planning to navigate getting to the festival.
