Launched in 1989, Lady Washington is a wooden-hulled replica of one of the first U.S.-flagged ships to explore the West Coast of North America. The vessel has appeared in TV programs, including recent episodes of the ABC-TV series Once Upon a Time. The ship appeared as HMS Interceptor in the 2003 Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

The tall ship Lady Washington will visit Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay October 24-27, 2013.  The 112-foot replica of an 18th century sailing ship is currently on its annual winter tour of California ports.

The Lady Washington visits Pillar Point Harbor!



We saw the Lady Washington arrive as she sailed full mast past Pillar Point RV Park.    The ship was available for a free tour for two days and you could book a one hour or three hour ride. 

There are 12 deckhands who man the ship, all of whom were dressed in period clothing for the walk on tours.  They answered every question and demonstrated how to use the rutter, set off ...
