Stormy days
are just the ticket for kite surfers.


Taking advantage of another stormy day at Pillar Point RV Park, over a dozen kite surfers came from near and far to catch the wind.    If you love the stormy weather at the ocean, however, I am afraid you'll be out of luck as of noon on Sunday.    The skies are scheduled to clear up and the temperature for the rest of the week looks to be in the low 70's.

The weather forecast was correct!   The wind today at the beach is between 32-35mph and the ocean is roiling in crashing waves.  The three flags at the front of the park are flapping furiously and the poles are swaying back and forth like crazy.   Rain is light but with the wind, those little drops sting when they hit your face.   How do I know?  While everyone is inside, cozy and watching movies, I am out...

There was lots and lots of talk and even a News 5 TV truck here at Pillar Point RV Park last weekend, predicting giant King Tide waves!   Well, while over three dozen surfers waited in the water, the really BIG waves never really came.   There were waves, however and everyone got a ride.

HERE COMES THE RAIN!



Even when it's raining...ok, storming...the view is still spectacular at Pillar Point RV Park.   A series of storm fronts have been hitting the coast bringing out the wind surfers and photographers alike.  The ocean is beautiful to watch as its waves rise up,
 curl and crash into the jetty...

Surf's Up Bigtime!

Set after set of amazing waves are pounding the shore here at Pillar Point RV Park!  Forecast says the waves will only be getting bigger all week, peaking this weekend.  

The sound of the waves is deafening and some of them come in so hot, you can feel your rig shake.   It's breathtaking as the waves hit the jetty and fly up into the sky.

There must be a lot of empty seats in the classrooms because young...

We have had so much fun just taking off south on Highway 1 and stopping often at all the beaches and parks.   There are a ton of beautiful photo opportunities along the way.
