One of the activities that you can't escape at Pillar Point RV Park is biking.   One of the most beautiful trails runs right in front of your rig.   No bike? No problem.  Here's a list of places you can rent a bike, as well as guided tours and local favorite trails.

The Half Moon Bay Coastside Trail stretches from Half Moon Bay State Park to Miramar -- totaling nearly 3 miles.  It features a well paved path with sweeping ocean and beach views.  You can catch it right in front of your rig while staying at Pillar Point RV Park. 


To reach the Half Moon Bay State Beach Visitor Center,  turn right onto Hwy 1 as you exit Pillar Point  RV Park.  Take a right on to Kelly Avenue, heading toward the coast. The visitor center is at the end of Kelly Avenue.  A $6 day use fee is required.

Half Moon Bay State Beach has Wi-Fi  that reaches about 150 to 200 feet of the Visitor Center in the park.

Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Reserve

The main entrance is located on Skyline Blvd. (Route 35) 4.5 miles south of Highway 92. This gives you access to the North Ridge Trailhead.

(The Redwood trees in Purisima Creek Redwoods are about 100 years old and they are known as a second-growth Redwood forest.)

The network of trails in this area is fairly diverse. There are over 2,600 acres and 21 miles of developed trails in the preserve. Some climbs are very challenging and exceed 1500 feet in elevation

The Maverick's Beach tour visits local points of historic interest. views birds, wildlife and plant life. Mid-ride, they stop for a snack of water, chocolates, fruit and local organic Odwalla bars.  This is also a perfect time to take photos...

They also have a Redwoods tour, a Lighthouse biking tour, as well as special 3 course gourmet, organic picnic

The tours come in 2 hour, 4 hour and 2 day increments.
