This year, the holiday officially marking the end of summer is Friday, September 4 thru Monday, September 7th. Here are some of the activities and festivals going on during the three day weekend.
Union Square Live You can see free live music and dance performances in Union Square with "Union Square Live!" Performances on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. No tickets required.

Oakland A's Baseball The Oakland A's take on the Seattle Mariners on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Head over again on Monday as they battle the Houston Astros on Monday afternoon at 1:05pm.

Free Shakespeare in the Park Enjoy performances of Romeo and Juliet. All three shows are free thanks to the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. The shows are located on the Presido's Main Post Parade Gounds lawn. Shows start at 2pm each day. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Arrive early for the best seats.

Stranded! Tropical Island Survival at the Conservatory of Flowers Head to the Conservatory of Flowers this weekend to check out their current exhibit, Stranded! Tropical Island Survival. Step inside this fun exhibit to learn more about how you can survive being stranded on an island by using all the plants around you. Learn everything from which plants are the best for food and water to the types of plants you should use to build a shelter. The Conservatory is located in Golden Gate Park, 100 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

The Annual Sausalito Art Festival features 260 artists who bring together over 30,000 art lovers to one of the top art festivals in the United States. Listen to continuous live music from more than 20 local and national bands on two stages while enjoying international food and premium California wines and microbrews.

Labor Day weekend tours include Pacific Heights Mansions, Coit Tower Murals, Castro: Tales of the Village, Haight-Ashbury, Gold Rush City, Japanese Tea Garden, 1906 Earthquake and Fire, North Beach by Night and much more. You don't need to make reservations to join any of these free walking tours. Simply show up at the designated spot about 10 minutes before they start. Let's Go To The Circus!
Head over to the Cow Palace to catch one of several performances of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus this Labor Day Weekend. The show you will see this year in San Francisco is called Circus XTREME. The performance includes fun acts with both acrobats and animals. It's a fun event for the entire family.

This "Last Blast of Summer" event showcases a huge Mardi Gras–style festival featuring over 200 artists, 20 food vendors, a microbrew tasting tent, fine wines and margaritas, and tons of live entertainment. Scottish Highland Gathering & Games

Scottish hammer, stone putt and other athletic events, a bagpipe bands competition, Scottish and Irish dancing, rugby, whiskey tasting, and food like Scotch eggs and fish and chips. Sheep dogs, Clydesdale horses, falcons and owls show their stuff. Mary Queen of Scots and her court, knights, mercenaries and and other historical characters roam the grounds. Kings Mountain Art Fair

Featured under the redwoods are ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, textiles, furniture, wood works and other one-of-a-kind items by more than 130 artists. Kids can make their own art and meet the local volunteer firefighters. Pancake breakfast is available from 8 am and lunch from 11:30 am. Proceeds benefit the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade and the three-room Kings Mountain Elementary School.
At Kings Mountain Community Center and Firehouse, 13889 Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35), above Woodside. Free admission and parking. Food and drink purchases are cash only.
