In addition to relaxing and watching the ocean, one of the things that many people like to do while they are at Point Point RV Park is to go to San Francisco. If you want to see the sights or shop until you drop, taking BART is the fastest, easiest way in or out of the city. You will not have to deal with traffic or look for a very expensive parking space if you take public transport. If you are taking a tow vehicle or your RV, you can get to San Francisco very quickly by taking Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). The Point Point PART BART station is at Colma, which is approximately 15 minutes drive north on Highway One. BART is clean, safe and easy. Take the 510 exitOff road a short time after you go through Pacifica to Daly City. The exit will also read Avenue D. At the exit, stay on the central lane marked Avenue D and BART. Go directly through the stop light. If you have your big truck, you can park in the Samtrans car park (bus) on the right. It is wide and open air. Remember the number of places you are, because you have to buy a $ 2 parking permit at the kiosk before entering the upper pass aisle to get to the BART station.If you have your tow vehicle, which is small enough for a parking garage, you can enter BART parking on the left which will cost you $ 3.00. If you arrive before 10:00 be careful for restricted spaces posted on the entry level. If you park there before 10:00, you will receive a $ 40 ticket. After 10:00, space is a fair game. Again, do not forget your parking space number for the purchase of parking on the parking terminal.Once you are at the BART station, you will see the ticket machines. On the right is a Colma fare table to various destinations. To get to the heart of San Francisco, you'll want to choose Powell Street. To date, the cost is $ 6.60 round trip. The machines will only give up at the change of $ 4, so you will want to make sure that you buy each ticket within that amount. Each person will need their own ticket in order to get through the doors. To buy a ticket: To buy a ticket for Powell Street, for example, insert $ 7 into the slot on the right.(machines also have ATM / credit cards) Since you want a tour ticket for $ 6.60, go to the screen, push the left button down that says "subtract 5 cents" and push that button up your ticket price is $ 6.60. At this point, press the "print ticket" button and your ticket will be ejected and your change and receipt will go out at the bottom. Go to the door, insert your ticket in front and it will pop up a few steps ahead. Remove your ticket out and the door will open! Be sure to keep your ticket safe. You will need it every time you enter or leave a BART station. (You can see a video of this at the bottom of this post online.) To pay for parking:Walk through the door on the right to get to the parking bollard. Insert again, the price of the ticket if necessary (free on weekends) punch in the number of places and you are ready to leave. You can proceed to trains. For Trains:
Trains run north and south. North of San Francisco, south of the airport. When returning to Columa, be sure to catch a train that says it's heading to Millbrae or San Francisco Airport. All other trains end in Daly City, a short stop from Colma. If you accidentally ride one of these trains, then get off on Daly City, take the next train that says Millbrae or Airport and get off at the next stop.Every stop is announced by the conductor and there is a map on the wall of the car where you can follow the stops. Each station also has a sign that you can see it on your car as well. The journey from Colma to Powell Street is approximately 18 minutes. When getting off BART at Powell Street stop, climb the elevator and the turnstiles. He is well marked. One thing you will notice is that you have arrived at the heart of SF shopping. Nordstroms, Macys and other stores have turnstiles right on the turnstiles. Exit the station and walk to a short set of steps. 
On your left you will see the Visitors Center. They have all kinds of brochures and maps. Askmatching the leaf that has all the public walk directions and get anywhere in the city. SF Visitor Center - 415-391-2000 *

After leaving the visitor center, go up the stairs where you will find the turnaround of the wagon car. You can buy tickets there on a terminal. http://www.sfcablecar.com/riders.html ticket prices / day pass / mo pass. The cable car from here takes you to the fishermen's wharf. The Powell-Mason line starts at the Powell / Platinum Market and the line runs from there up and onto Nob Hill and up to Bay Street at the Fishermen's Wharf. The Powell-Hyde line also begins at the Powell market hub and runs through the Nob and Russian hills before ending at the water park near Ghiradelli Square.End these lines near Fisherman's Wharf, but in different areas, both roads are significantly different. Decide beforehand which part of the fisherman of the wharf you wish to visit. The Financial District's California Street East-West line runs through Chinatown, Nob Hill and stops at Van Ness Avenue. Unless you have a pass, you can not walk along the road. You will have to pay the full price each time, so remember that. If you are spreading the cable car along the road, you will have to pay the driver for the ticket. You can also take the F train (it looks like an electric bus) right there on Market Street and take it to Fisherman's Wharf.From Powell Street, you can easily walk to Union Square, Chinatown and lots of shopping. 
Chinatown: Walk 2.5 blocks to 3 rd street. Turn left on Kearny Street. Walk up two blocks to the bush and Kearny intersection where you will see the entrance to Chinatown. 
Union Square: Walk half a block to 3 rd street. Turn left on Stockton and walk two blocks and you're there. One of our favorite things to do is go up Macy's overlooking Union Square and have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. They have outdoor tables and the food is wonderful. We went to Christmas time during Santacon and had fun watching everyone dressed up as Santa Claus andBART opening hours Monday to Friday (04:00 - midnight) Saturday (06:00 - midnight) Sunday (08:00 - midnight) On weekdays, trains run every 15 minutes. On nights and weekends, trains run every 20 minutes. There are also extended hours for specific holidays.
