The momma and baby gray whales, Lucy and Little Ricky, are still having a grand old time in the Klamath River, in Northern California, just down the road from where we are staying in Kamp Klamath.    The two have been in the same spot in the river since June 27th.

This photo was taken by fellow whale watcher, Ashley Donnell.   You can see  the mother rolling about and there's the baby beside her still underwater...   Can you see something unusual about this photo?    Try leaves from trees!   When in your whale watching career have you ever had to battle the trees to get a good photo?

The two have been rolling and playing, and we all swear, putting on a special show just for us in the 30 foot deep water right there by the old Highway 101 bridge.   The view is great from the bridge because we are watching from above and you can see their bodies floating up before they break the surface of the water...

Tuesday, July 5th, I was able to spend some time by the river with a video camera, and boy did we all have fun watching these two.   Check it out...
