Pony rides, Hay Wagon rides, Train rides through a ghost town, a place to jump, a place to run, a place to picnic...all this and more we discovered at Lemos Farm!
It was a very special day when we visited Lemos Farm! The 9 goats in the petting zoo were giving birth and ALL the children gathered around to witness the big event.
What a delight it was to see the babies wobble up on their four legs for the very first time as they try to find the right place to nurse!
One thing we learned is that once one of the goats gives birth, the rest will all follow within 24 hours. With all those pregnant goats it was a very busy day... five babies had been born and they were expecting 8 more!
Within hours, children in the petting zoo were allowed to actually hold and cuddle the cute babies.
The Lemos family has owned this land since 1942. It started out as a dairy, then during the '60s the ranch was rented as horse property and in 1979 Bob Lemos and his dad, Arnold Lemos, began planting Christmas trees and pumpkin fields. They added pony rides and the rest is history! A great place to spend the afternoon with your kids. Some food on site, but feel free to bring your own!
This place looks like a party is going on whenever you go by!
In fact, you can have a birthday party or celebration at the farm. There are picnic areas and several packages that feature unlimited train rides or pony rides among all the other things to do. You will want to call ahead to make reservations for your special event.
Depending on the season, the farm also features their pumpkin patch and cut your own Christmas tree...
