For those unpredictable bumps and cuts that always come while traveling in or working on your RV, it's good to have an ice pack handy, but they're not exactly cheap.    So here's a recipe to make your own ice pack and if you're a coupon user, you'll be able to put this reusable ice pack together for even less.

Here is what you will need:
  • 1 quart size Ziploc Freezer bag (Double zip will protect best against leaks)
  • 1 9 oz bottle dish soap
  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

Combine the ingredients in the bag, squeeze out as much air as possible, and zip the bag securely shut. The bag should be no more than 3/4 full. Pop into the freezer overnight, and it will be ready by morning.  The combination of liquid soap and rubbing alcohol will not completely solidify in the freezer.  Best results come when you lay it flat. If you stand the Ziploc upright, you’ll end up with a giant ice cube, too solid and the wrong shape to use.  By laying it flat it’s always the perfect “temperature” and is pliable within a few minutes.  Any dish soap will work.
