800 more jobs are expected to be added in the Elkhart/Goshen, Indiana area as Drew Industries
announces they will relocate their headquarters from White Plains, New York to Elkhart, Indiana. The Elkhart, Indiana area is the center of RV mannufacuring in the U.S. with many RV related companies located there
Drew makes components for buses, RV's, and trailers of all kinds, as well as chassis, electronics components and other products that can be used in RVs. The company already owns Elkhart county based Lippert Components and Kinro Inc. In moving their headquarters to the aea they reportedly plan to invest $12.75 million to set up four facilities in Elhart and Goshen. 3,400 of their 5,000 employees across the country will be located in Indiana.
It is reported that as part of the deal, Indiana will give up to $4.3 million iin conditional tax credits and $200,000 in training grants that are tied in to Drew's job creation plans. Elkart and Goshen are expected to offer additional property tax breaks.
