Nothing sweeter than being home for the holidays and we are fortunate to be back in Carmel just about four miles up the road from the home of over 20 years we left to hit the road full time RVing.  That was six years ago and everytime I pass by the old homestead I think about the massive sticky hedge that needed constant clipping, the bathrooms that always seemed to have a problem, the one acre lawn that needed taking care of or the unseen crisis of the day that was always present.  Yes, there were great times there and our daughters grew up there but as for that other stuff...I am not tempted to go back.  There actually is time to go to the beach this time around.  Saddle Mountain Ranch is just off Carmel Valley Road, about 4.5 miles from Highway 1.  It is very unique...the only RV park on the peninsula with a swimming pool and it not only has RV sites, but, beautiful cabins and really wonderful camping spots.  I love the large gazebo with the propane fireplace in the middle.  It is very quiet, especially at night.  It is a friendly group of people so we feel very much as home.  We are here for a few months as we finish producing RVing the Monterey Peninsula DVD.  If you're in the neighborhood come and see us!
