Almost a half hour from Vineyard RV Park is Vallejo, California, home to
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. 

This is not your usual theme park and I'll tell you why...

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is Northern California's only combined marine life, wildlife and wild rides theme park...

1.  Clean with lots of shade and places to sit down (my priority, but maybe not yours)
Lots of available large, clean restrooms.

This is really a great place for families for bowling and arcade games. 

Their food is absolutely spectacular...not your ordinary pub food.

3 Zero Cafe

The 3 Zero Cafe is hidden in plain sight at the Half Moon Bay Airport right off of Highway 1 just a mile or so north of Pillar Point RV Park.

Now if you ask owner Mark Smith what 3 Zero stands for, he'll slap you on the back with a laugh and tell you it stands for him and his two ex-wives...   but then he'll let you know 3 zero is aviator talk for a compass sett...
The Old Monterey Farmers Market, established in 1991, comprises of 3 ½ city blocks and runs year-round rain or shine every Tuesday.

What started out as a single cherry stand by the junction of highways 156 and 152 is now a major complex of food, fruit and fun!  Our family has loved stopping by Casa de Fruta on our way to Fresno (college student)  and any time we had to hop on Highway 5.

People who don't know about RVers and Rving have a tendency to believe they hole up in their RVs and do all their meals inside...or, at best, cook out on the barbecues.  Not so, we have found.  RVers, by their nature, are "actiives." They like to go out and experience new things..that's why they spent that hundred thousand plus on those rigs that get 8 miles to the gallon....gotta go and gotta see something different.  RVers spend...

A funny thing happened on our way to get a burger...



We passed by the Rock and Roll Diner in Oceano, California several times and were intrigued by seeing that the restaurant was inside two railroad cars.   It's decorated in the stereotypical 50's imagination with a black and white checked floor and cute red and white vinyl seats.
