AAA reported on Friday that the average price of regular gasoline across the U.S. is now $2.98 a gallon.  That's up 10 cents more than a week ago. The west coast is now paying an average of $3.21 a gallon..it's $3.09 in New England, $3.05 in the mid Atlantic states, $2.98 around the Great Lakes and $2.82 in the southwest.  A dime more per gallon takes about $40 million more out of the driving public's pocket. Crude oil has climbed more...
With oil prices on Wall Street going down to $30 a barrel you would think we would be returning to dollar a gallon gas...instead it went up again last week and now averages at $1.95 a gallon.  Why?  Normally, the most expensive oil in the U.S. is West Texas Crude, and the cheapest is oil imported from other countries.  That cheaper gas from other countries is imported directly to the refineries and is used to make gasoline.  The oil from Texas, ...

The Lundberg survey reported today that regular gasoline has fallen to $3.996 a gallon across the U.S.  Mid grade is still at $4.13 and premium at $4.24.  Diesel is at $4.80...The cheapest gas is in Wichita, Texas where is at $3.61 a gallon.  It's highest in Anchorage..$4.43 a gallon. Still, the survey shows that gas is $1.11 higher than it was a year ago at this time. ...

The traditional drop in gasoline prices did not materialize this year and that has spurred energy experts to predict that we will see $4 gas in 2008.  The Energy Department's weekly survey of service stations Monday found the average pump price was $2.980 nationally and $3.261 in California...about 2 cents lower than a week ago but much higher than the same period last year..at the same period in 2006 it was $2.341 across the U.S. and $2.60...
