It's always a bit of a negative to find out your phone or your tablet is not charged up, when you are going to need to use it again in a short period of time away from a plug ... So you plug it in and wait for it to slowly charge up... RVers in particular really rely on their devices... So to the rescue is Nonda’s new Zus cigarette plug that will charge up your phone or tablet at more than twice the speed of a normal in car charger…

There is also...

A percentage of RVers still smoke... Cigarettes or cigars.... In some cases its been a motivation to buy an RV as smoking is now forbidden in almost every hotel room. Of course you don't want that smell in your RV and certainly if you expect to ever sell it, price goes down considerably if it has been tainted with tobacco smoke. If you ask someone these days If they smoke and they say yes they usually follow it with "yes but I am trying to quit"...
Picture this...you have just set down for dinner inside your travel trailer and suddenly the front door gets torn off the RV! That's what happened to a family at the Mount Kidd RV Park in Kananaskis Country, Canada near Calgary this weekend. Good news, family wasn't hurt. But it sure put a mood of fear throughout the park. Another RVer had a bumper torn off. Most, but interestingly not all of the park is closed while fish and game officers ...

It took 2 1/2 years, working long hours everyday, to complete the RVing the Bay Area DVD.  I had expected it to be done within a year.  But, two things happened..first, I really didn't expect that there were so many MUSTSEE locations and attractions to cover.  I could not have you buy the DVD and after watching it wonder why I didn't cover Lands End, or the U.S.S. Hornet or Jack London, etc. etc. The list grew and grew.  Ther...

One of my favorite things to do while at Pillar Point RV Park is to watch the birds....especially the pelicans.    They're big, but agile in the air and amazing fishermen.  You can watch them turn their huge bodies into thin arrows as they plunge into the ocean and emerge with their long beaks and gullets full of fish.

On a recent walk, we had a bit of a wake up call to remind us that pelicans are wild animals and while...
While there are a whole host of wonderful restaurants, many within walking distance of Pillar Point RV Park, there's nothing like throwing fresh fish, caught that day, on the grill.

1.  Go out on the jetty to catch one OR use the Boat launch a block away to take out your own boat.  It's only $13 to launch.  Self serve.

2.  Book a charter that will take you out f...

A PIECE OF HISTORY
on display

As you head north on Hwy 1, you'll pass through Moss Beach and Monterra and through the part of the road locals call "Devil's Slide".

There, you'll notice something that stands on top of the mountain, overlooking the ocean...it's not a statue, not a natural land formation!   So what is it?

It's a WWII Gun Turret.  Several of these turrets were built along the California coast in this area to be o...
