The Lundberg Survey reported Sunday afternoon that the average price of gasoline in the U.S. has dropped by 4 cents per gallon.  The average price of regular fell to $2.73 per gallon...That's still about 17 cents a gallon higher than a year ago.  Crude oil prices have dropped slightly, but still holding around the $75 a barrel area. The still-staggering economy continues to hold prices down as they consumer is "in a bit of a holding pattern" according to the survey. San Francisco still sports the highest prices in the U.S. at $3.16 a gallon..(it's even more here in Carmel) with the $2.43 a gallon in Jackson, Mississippi named the lowest.
