200 Broadway StreetKing City, CA 93930
In the heart of King City, you'll find a touch of the cosmopolitan lifestyle...something young, fresh and contemporary. It's a restaurant called, "The Cork & Plough". The name alludes to the style, which are the wonderful wines and fresh produce that abound in this spectacular part of California.
Chef Travis Childers and his father, Ron, are the co-owners of the establishment, while chef's wife Anna, an artist in her own right, curates the wine selection. The restaurant features wine from this award winning region and fresh farm to table vegetables from growers in the area. Travis says the style of the restaurant is "a contemporary take on classic american cuisine". For example, if you order the meatloaf sandwich, it will be a venison meatloaf that is used. Be sure to check out the daily specials. Kids menu is available.
Full of natural light, the bar is made of grey stone. With chalk at the ready, many patrons leave behind glorious pieces of artwork and sayings to scribbles from a meeting. There is also a chess set, Jenga and several other games you can play while you are enjoying your cocktail, beer or home made non-alcoholic ginger beer. The fruit juices used in their drinks are squeezed fresh, right in front of you. The syrups and grenadine are homemade and the ice is hand cut to a specific size to inhibit melting. You will also find a large selection of whiskeys. They offer a flight for your enjoyment.
The Cork & Plough also has a separate, private dining area for your parties or special occasion needs.
Stop by anytime and enjoy the family style atmosphere of the staff who love their jobs.
