San Lorenzo Park is indeed a little known gem! Whether you are on vacation in your RV, passing through town or just taking a drive, San Lorenzo Park should be a definite stop in your travels. Located just off Highway 101 in King City, California, along the Salinas River, you'll find a beautifully wooded park with the
unmistakable sense of the history of the area.
There are 83 RV hook-up sites including 45 pull-through sites with access to water and electric hook-ups, 25 pull-through sites with sewer, water and electric hook-ups, 10 tent camping sites with water availability and 13 back-in sites with hook-ups for water and electricity. San Lorenzo Park is easy to get to, the sites are wide and long and you can pick from shady or non shady spots.
Day use facilities include picnic areas, a large gazebo, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, softball areas, and walking trails.
The park is also home to the very informative and interesting Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM). You'll also find there, a restored farmhouse, a one room school, blacksmith shop and King City’s original train depot. Exhibits in the barn trace the development of Monterey County agriculture from Mission Days to the present. The fascinating history of irrigation is recounted in the History of Irrigation Museum. Outdoor displays of farm equipment are reminders of how crops were sown and harvested in years past.
San Lorenzo Park has two large group picnic areas and 5 mini-group areas available for the public to rent for the day. Take a left onto Highway 68 as you exit the park.
Take the Spreckles exit and turn right at the stop sign.
Follow the road around through Spreckles and around the farms.
Take a right at the stoplight and follow that to Highway 101.
Take the Broadway exit once you come to King City
Take a right at the stop sign.
Take a left at the light, which is the entrance to San Lorenzo Park
Approximately 50 minutes no traffic travel time.
